Pakistan’s top female pop singer Annie Khalid has launched her music career in the UK.

Annie Khalid, 23, who was born in Lahore but grew up in East London, launched her debut English single ‘Be My baby’ for the mainstream English audience.
The face of Annie Khalid is seen everywhere in Pakistan where she is a superstar and endorsed by multinational brands like Pepsi Cola and the Norwegian based Telecom Giant TELENOR..
But she is still unknown in Britain, though she has lived here since she was six months old.She has done a music collaboration with UK’s Top DJ Judge Jules, A four-minute video of the track has been released which was shot at 10 locations in central London and has already earned praise for its fine production.
The video of the Jule’s remix has recently been shot in Ibiza with the Judgemental sunday’s closure crowd and to be released soon.
The catchy dance single is already a rage in clubs and bars and its release to the mainstream is set to further expand the reach of Annie’s unique voice.
At the event Annie announced that she will dedicate all proceeds from the release of the single to the victims of floods in Pakistan.
Recently appointed the Goodwill Ambassador for the Red Cross, Annie vowed she will use her popularity to work for the rehabilitation of the flood victims.
“It’s the worst disaster that has hit Pakistan and being a Pakistani it’s my duty to give whatever I can, so through this song and with the help of the Red Cross I am doing that and. This is a good cause for my country,” she told The News.
Annie said she was happy that the single was receiving a huge response from all sorts of people and was showing a new light on the diversity of Pakistani people.
The song, set to be released through various mediums including itunes on 25th of October, has won rave reviews in the British press and Annnie has been described as a bright star with potential to break down cultural divides.
Charles Harris, director of Integrity Artists Management, said: “We are proud of this fantastic dance track. It’s a collaboration between east and the west and there cannot be a better example of the great western and eastern fusion.”
Heaping praise on Annie and the track she came up with, he said that Judge Jules had done a marvellous job by giving a new dimension to the track. “We are proud to be part of this project and especially the fact that the proceeds are going to help the victims of floods in Pakistan.”
Annie, one of the most recognised faces in Pakistan today, said being a global artist she feels she can work for various causes and bridge gaps between communities.
Annie was catapulted to fame when in 2005 she penned the hit song called Mahiya which set the charts on fire and made Annie a household name within days. She has since worked hard to come up with even better songs and tunes – selling millions of copies of her debut single.
